The Baird Real Estate office is buzzing with excitement with The Australian Real Estate Conference just around the corner. ‘AREC’ is the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and this year we have five staff members attending. The conference will be extremely beneficial to our office and levels of service in all departments and we are all very much looking forward to it!

We have been very busy in the past couple of months with various activities taking place. On April 2nd we held a stall for Autism Day where wrist bands and raffle tickets were sold. We would like to thank everyone for their support on the day and let you know the great prizes for this raffle will be drawn on 31st May 2008. The day was a great success and all proceeds were donated to the Autism Spectrum Australia.

The month of May is actually Autism Month. In our effort to raise funds for this great cause, we will be holding a street stall at the front of our office. There will be a BBQ, cake stall and live entertainment by local performer Sarah Lewis. This will all be happening on Thursday 29th May between 11:30am – 2pm. Money raised will go to an aspect classroom in the Lower Hunter and also recognizing Autistic children at West Cessnock Primary School with equipment & resources needed.

Maxine Baird and Sarah Lewis also attended a Mothers Day morning tea at Jacaranda Grove on 9th May. While Maxine and her 2 year old daughter Eve handed posies of flowers to all the lovely ‘Mums’, Sarah sang some tunes where everyone joined in and thoroughly enjoyed.

On 29th April I had the pleasure of attending a lunch and presentation for the training organization Job Quest. One of our staff members, Sarah Lewis, was recognized for her outstanding achievement during her real estate traineeship which she completed at the end of 2007. Sarah was nominated and became a finalist in the Job Quest Trainee of the Year awards which placed her in the top 5 trainees for the real estate course in NSW.

More recently, Baird Real Estate held an Auction at 1 Lyell Street, Cessnock. The crowd was plentiful with 9 registered bidders making the auction very exciting. The pleased vendors achieved $24,000 over the reserve price on the day and were thrilled with the result.
